Midterm 1 - Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

MASLOW’S HIERARCHY OF NEEDS



When this lesson was discussed to us, it was very familiar, because it was already discussed when we were in highschool. This lesson emphasizes the needs of a person: the primary and secondary. These needs are significantly important & these are: Physiological, Safety, Love/Belongings, Self-Esteem & Self-Actualization. Each of these needs is to be fulfilled by a person to be able to satisfy his/her life. One should be achieved before the other, because they are relatively significant to one other.

Midterm 2 - Product Research and Product Specifications

PRODUCT RESEARCH AND PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS


Product research & product specifications are under Material Management. It is defined as assuring adequate quality of purchases. A product should be assured to have a good quality, because all customers surely wanted to not just experience an excellent service from an organization but also wants a good quality of the product he/she will be receiving. The team should be careful in choosing and specifying the products they will offer to their customers, because a good feedback from a customer is considered to be a part of the success.

Midterm 3 - Precision and Accuracy


PRECISION AND ACCURACY



Precision is the nearness of the values to one another & accuracy is the nearness of the value to the true value. And they’re very important in Quality Assurance. Especially on the laboratory where we perform many tests that requires both accuracy and precision. For our customers to trust us, what we give them should be an accurate and precise result, because their life depends on the tests we performed on them. Therefore, giving them inaccurate results put their lives at risk, which we always avoid as health care providers.

Prelim 1 - Scalar Principle

SCALAR PRINCIPLE




Scalar Principle is one of the principles of Organizational structure & authority. It talks about the relationship from superior to subordinate in an organization. Having a good relationship with your employees is one of the key to a successful business. Once you developed trust to one another, from the manager to all employees, minimal mistakes may only happen. Unlike if everyone is just doing their own thing, without maintaining contact with one another, it may cause confusion and a not-so-successful business. Managing also means developing. You should develop relationship with all your workers.

Prelim 2 - Planning

PLANNING

One of the most important functions in Management is PLANNING. I also consider this function as the most crucial one, because it will start everything and everything follows according to what you planned. It’s like a domino effect. If you planned well you’ll end with a good result, but if you didn’t have a good plan, everything will not fall into place, as you wanted them to be. Planning does not just go with Management. It does go with life, in particular. Once you planned everything well in your life, you’ll be in good hands once you’ve accomplished them. So better start a good plan, in order to be a successful man.

Prelim 3 - Laboratory manager as a person



Laboratory manager as a person


Of all three versions of a laboratory manager namely; person, servant and representative, I really liked the laboratory manager as a person. Because it will really show the attitude and how the person is really capable of the job. A person that is natural leader, has an inborn skills which I find very important because dealing with different kinds of people is a challenge. Not all people we deal with everyday are the same. What will come out here is how patient you are to deal with them appropriately. Another characteristic of a lab manager as a person is one that exacts attention to details, this is an important aspect because you have to deal with everything, and by everything meant not only dealing with different kinds of people, but also dealing with things that is needed in your occupation. A Laboratory manager develops more as a person if he/she gave attention to these characteristics and may also apply them on his/her other roles in life.
